Automation Engineer (Playwright/Java)



Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer with strong expertise in JAVA & Playwright to design, develop, and maintain robust automated testing frameworks.

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge of automation tools, programming, and testing best practices to ensure the highest quality for our web and API products.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement automated test frameworks using Playwright for UI and end-to-end testing.

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for REST API testing leveraging REST Assured, Postman, and related tools.

  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Maven .

  • Create, organize, and execute automated test suites for functional, regression, and integration testing.

  • Perform backend validations through advanced SQL queries , joins, and stored procedures.

  • Work with TestNG for test organization, data-driven testing, and parallel execution.

  • Partner closely with developers and QA to ensure code quality, identify bugs early, and maintain project timelines.


Required Skills & Proficiency
  • Programming: Strong knowledge of Java (OOP, Collections, Streams, Exception handling) 
  • Test Frameworks: TestNG (Annotations, Data providers, Parallel execution) 
  • Version Control: Git (Branching, Merging, Conflict resolution) 
  • API Testing: REST principles, HTTP methods, Authentication, JSON/XML
  • UI Testing: DOM, CSS/XPath selectors, basic JavaScript 
  • Database: SQL queries, Joins, Stored procedures
  • Tools: Playwright , REST Assured, Postman, Jenkins


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • 6+ years of experience in test automation, with at least 4+ years working hands-on with Playwright .

  • Solid understanding of CI/CD processes and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.


Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with cloud-based testing environments.

  • Experience with performance testing and monitoring tools.
